Chizhou City is located in the southwest of Anhui Province, on the south bank of the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. Chizhou has a history of nearly 1,400 years, dating back to 621 when it was established as a prefecture in the fourth year of Wude era(a reign title) in the Tang Dynasty (i.e. AD 621).
