Chizhou is a tourist city with great reputation. Thecity is rich in cultural and tourism resources, with 1 5A-level and 17 4A-level tourist attractions. There are Jiuhua Mountain, one of the four famous mountains of Chinese Buddhism, Xinghua Village, which "the cowherd boy points towards" in Du Mu’s poem, Shengjin Lake, known as "China Crane Lake", and Guniujiang, known as "the last primitive forest in East China". In 2023, the city received 71.3727 million tourists. Shitai County is honoured as the Most Beautiful Original Ecological Mountain Town and the Most Beautiful Ecological County of Leisure and Tourism in China.
